Application Requirements

All First Year (Freshman) Applicants

1. Submit a completed Common Application Form*, along with a nonrefundable $70 application fee. (Please notation that if y'all asking a fee waiver, you will be required to provide documentation from your school counselor to support the request.)

Transfer Applicants

Transfer Credits and Placement

Ringling College will consider for transfer any liberal arts or studio fine art credit that meets our bookish requirements and where a course of C or ameliorate was earned from a regionally-accredited college or academy. This evaluation must include a "course by course" evaluation with grades or marks and credits or hours equated to the U.S. arrangement. The official and sealed credential evaluation must exist submitted straight to the Office of the Registrar at Ringling Higher of Art and Design. International students must have their transcripts evaluated by World Instruction Services (WES) or Joseph Silny & Associates International Education Consultants.

Spring Semester Applicants

Transfer of Credit Policies + Articulation Agreements

Studio Transfer Credit
Students who have taken studio art courses at another regionally accredited institution of higher education may accept those courses and a portfolio reviewed by the department head or Academic Affairs designee to determine if the credits can apply to the caste requirements for the Bachelor of Fine Arts or Available of Arts degrees.  Requests for studio transfer credit must be supported by a sufficient number of portfolio submissions that demonstrate the competencies associated with those required by the majors.

Permission to have courses at other colleges during the summertime is granted through the Office of Advising, Records and Registration Services.  Students must meet with their Academic Advisor who will consider all aspects of the student's asking, including the quality and level of the proposed class and its role in the educatee's program of written report earlier completing a Transient Pupil grade.  Courses intended to fulfill major requirements must also be canonical by the section head.

Students entering with an Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Arts degree from a regionally accredited college or university will be considered to have met the liberal arts requirements for the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree or Bachelor of Arts caste.  Students entering with an Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science degree from a regionally accredited college or academy will have their liberal arts credits evaluated to determine if they fulfill the distribution requirements for the B.F.A. degree or the B.A. degree.  Additional form work may be required.

Art History Transfer Credit
Students who accept taken art history courses at some other regionally accredited institution of college education may take those courses evaluated by the Academic Advisors in the Office of Advising, Records, and Registration Services to make up one's mind if they run into the caste requirements for the Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Arts Caste. Departments at Ringling College may have specific art history requirements such as a history of the discipline. Liberal Arts Transfer Credit

Admission to Avant-garde Continuing by Portfolio Review

Residency Requirement

Articulation Agreement
Florida transfer students who complete the AA Degree in studio art or photography from select Florida community colleges are eligible to apply to the ii + two BFA in Fine Arts or the BFA in Photography & Imaging.  In one case accepted to the program, students are enrolled at the junior level and complete an additional two years in residency at Ringling College to consummate the B.F.A. degree.

Participating Community Colleges:

  • Land College of Florida: AA with an accent in Studio Fine art or AA with an emphasis in Photography
  • Saint petersburg College:  AA with an emphasis in Studio Art
    Valencia College: AA in Fine art/Studio Fine art


Veterans

Ringling College is approved for veterans' study under several GI bills, and participates in the Xanthous Ribbon Programme.  Veterans should contact the Veteran Certifying Official in the Function of Advising, Records and Registration Services for more information.

International Students:
International students who have attended a higher/university outside the United States and are requesting transfer credit must have their academic credentials evaluated past a Foreign Credential Evaluation Service. This evaluation must include a "course by course" evaluation with grades or marks and credits or hours equated to the U.S. system. The official and sealed credential evaluation must be submitted directly to the Office of the Registrar at Ringling College of Fine art and Design. International students must have their transcripts evaluated past World Education Services (WES) or Joseph Silny & Associates International Pedagogy Consultants.

Advanced Placement Credit:
Ringling College must receive the official Avant-garde Placement (AP) Transcript inside the starting time year of the student's matriculation if credit is to be awarded. No AP credit will be awarded after the student has completed one full year at Ringling College.

Veteran Applicants

Readmission Applicants

Computer Blitheness

Computer Animation is the only major at Ringling College with specific application deadlines.  Computer Animation applicants may choose from two options: Early on Action and Regular Decision.  Early on Action is non-binding, pregnant applicants who choose this choice volition receive a decision earlier, merely will still take until May 1 to confirm their intent to enroll.  Figurer Animation applicants who do not specifically choose the Early Action option on their application volition automatically be reviewed for Regular Decision.

International Baccalaureate Credit

Ringling Higher recognizes the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Students with IB coursework may be given credit for individual liberal arts courses if they score 5 through 7 on the IB Higher-Level Examinations.
